What is a AQF China Pre-Shipment Inspection?

  • A Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) is a vital part of the company's China Supply Chain's quality control process.

  • A Finished Goods Inspection and a Pre Shipment Inspection are the same types of inspection. A pre-shipment check takes place at the supplier's warehouse in China. It occurs when a minimum, e.g. 81% of the goods have been made and packed for a client.

  • After an inspection has been booked onto our system, Goodada’s inspectors will arrange to visit your supplier's premises in China to conduct the pre-shipment inspection site.

  • All Goodada’s China Pre-Shipment Inspections are conducted to ISO 2859-1 standard. AQF Pre-Shipment Inspection checklists provide an extensive classification of defects and on-site tests based on international standards (EU, USA, AU and more).

So what are Pre-Shipment Inspections in China Always Important?

  • Most individuals or firms sourcing from Chinese suppliers know the importance of having pre-shipment inspections conducted at the factory in China to check for defects before shipping out.

  • It is better to find a fault on the factory floor and not at your door.

So, why Inspect Goods Before Shipment?

The objective of a China Pre-Shipment inspection is to assess the overall quality of your order. And then decide if the goods are deemed to be allowed to be shipped out of the factory.

The other essential benefits of having pre-shipment inspections in China include:
  • It encourages a culture of quality consciousness.

  • Better quality means a happier customer.

  • Fewer failures mean lower production costs.

  • Means reduced costs of inspections across the production line.

  • Improved communications between you and the supplier.

So why do I need a Pre-Shipment inspection as the factory is owned by non-Chinese?

It is important to remember that it is not just about who owns and manages the factory but also about the workforce's culture within the company.

Chinese Pre-Shipment Inspections are an excellent wait of:
  • Demonstrating to a company and its staff that you expect only the highest quality.

  • Communicating to the factory that irrespective of its background, you will check their work.

  • Coordinating activities within the factory to ensure your goods are made correctly.

When an inspector conducts a pre-shipment inspection, what do they look out for?

  • Documentation management,

  • WIP tracking,

  • Standing operating procedures

  • Internal Quality Control Reports

What does an inspector do during a Pre Shipment Inspection?

  1. The inspector visits the supplier's location.

  2. The quantities of goods are checked and verified.

  3. Goods are randomly selected for individual inspection.

  4. The goods are checked for production defects.

  5. Goods are verified that they conform to the specifications criteria.

  6. Function and other tests are carried out.

  7. An Inspection report is generated.
